The nephew of Kuki Yoshitaka. While Yoshitaka was in the service of Nobunaga, the head of the Kuki clan was Sumitaka, with Yoshitaka serving as his advisor. Despite his position, Sumitaka was little more than a puppet lord and died young, reportedly due to illness, just two years after the Honno-ji Incident.
