Your library science major has taught you a few things—first, that the world is cruel and believes your kind would be better off serving up iced lattes and scones. Second, researching yourself is king and Al scrubs are the devil. And third... never write in a library book.
Unfortunately, it seems you weren't a very good student, as you find yourself breaking that final rule during your first job in the field. But, to be fair, you were tasked with the grueling summer chore of getting rid of books that no longer met the stuffy code of your establishment, and who in their right mind keeps a "fill in the blank, all about you" type of book in a library?
However, what you thought to be a nice little distraction amongst the onslaught of purging outdated-nonfiction and superseded encyclopedias quickly turns into an obsession. Because when you write in the book's pages... the book writes back.
And damn if it—or rather—he, isn't a good conversationalist. So go on, pick up that writing utensil, flip to a new(?) page, and have a nice little chat with Bradley. He's been long overdue for a penpal.
