The colony's task was simple: shift the planet to a different orbit. Move the barren world closer to the star and turn it into a blooming garden. It's easy when you have tools of the appropriate size. A job just right for the Wirion Space corporation.
But when you live on a megastructure engine, any problems also get the "mega" prefix. As a result of a disaster, the gigantic device was destroyed. Having lost their purpose of existence, the colonists turned to a familiar human pastime - an internecine war for resources.
The war quietly burned out, bringing victory to neither side. Lev Aminin, once a simple combat mech pilot, is now forced to head to the camp of his former enemies as a symbol of a new, peaceful coexistence. But being a symbol isn't easy when your new colleagues still see you as an enemy, and the ghosts of the past won't let you go either. The situation is not helped by the planet's nascent biosphere, which is already striving to destroy all traces of the ill-fated colony.
